The Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking is organizing its 1st Stakeholder Forum under the new European Research and Innovation Program “Horizon 2020”.
The achievements of the first FCH JU programme (2008-2013) have led to the launch of a second phase FCH 2 JU (2014-2020), with a 1.33 BEUR budget, marking its evolution into an even stronger public-private partnership.
Following the take-off of this new major chapter, the Stakeholder Forum will be the occasion for industry and policy-makers to show how this partnership is contributing towards the European energy and transport targets.
For this year’s edition, we have developed an agenda including contributions from a series of high ranking representatives from across the hydrogen and fuel cell industrial sector, as well as from potential customers for the technology.
The event will be focussed on understanding the steps which Europe needs to take to move the sector onto a genuinely commercial footing. We will look to stimulate debate amongst speakers and industry stakeholders about the future of the sector and the transition from a research and funding dominated landscape to one where commercial forces, and real market demand, can begin to drive progress. The timing for the event is particularly appropriate given the transition to the Horizon 2020 program and the new Multi-Annual Work Plan which the FCH 2 JU has established. We will be looking to debate the lessons learnt from the first years of the FCH JU programs and look to understand the ways in which FCH 2 JU can play the most effective possible role in underpinning the move to commercial markets.
Venue
The forum will take place on Wednesday 12 November 2014 at “The Hotel”, Boulevard de Waterloo 38, in the centre of Brussels.
Attendance
More than 350 participants from the European Industry and Research communities together with decision-makers from the European Institutions will attend this event.
The Stakeholder Forum is open to all those with an interest in fuel cells and hydrogen technologies and in clean energy and transport in general. Whether you represent the industry, academia, public sector, NGO, media or want to find out about cleaner and more efficient options as a user of energy technologies, you will gain valuable insights and contacts.
