Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking Stakeholders General Assembly 2011

2 October, Paris, France

First organised in 2008 to mark the launch of the Joint Undertaking, the Stakeholders General Assembly is an annual event aimed at informing all interested parties about the activities of the FCH JU and acquiring feedback for future planning of the programme. It is also a key platform for European and global stakeholders across sectors to come together to examine and assess the current position of this emerging industry, exchange ideas on next steps and make contacts.

This 5th Stakeholders’ General Assembly organised this time in Paris, is of utmost importance. We are at the end of the current funding program, preparing for the Horizon 2020 agendas and ambitions. At the same time, the sector has achieved a lot in research and demonstration and the next decade is entering into larger and broader deployment plans. Furthermore, the energy transition agenda will require even more integration between transport and energy systems and an increased ability to manage intermittent renewable energy systems. Fuel cell and hydrogen technologies will be part of the solutions that facilitate the transition and will have a huge potential in reaching Europe's climate change, energy and environmental objectives and bringing about economic growth. International developments (Japan, Korea, US, China) show that this technology is also considered a promising tool for the future globally and these countries are preparing for broader deployment.

Infrastructure investments, new research needs, European integration, stakeholders’ cooperation are the key words of the next decade.

The annual gathering will foster exchanges among the whole fuel cells and hydrogen sector and high level debates on appropriate public and private support to enable these technologies to consistently support EU innovation and address environment and energy challenges which Europe faces.

Attendance

The Stakeholders General Assembly is open to all those with an interest in fuel cells and hydrogen technologies and in clean energy and transport in general. Whether you represent the industry, academia, public sector, NGO, media or want to find out about cleaner and more efficient options as a user of energy technologies, you will gain valuable insights and contacts.
