The detailed agenda for the EU Hydrogen Innovation Forum taking place on 27–28 October, is now online. Held as part of European Hydrogen Week 2026, from 26 to 30 October, the Forum will bring together industry leaders, researchers, policymakers and innovators under the theme “From Innovation to Impact: Clean Hydrogen for Europe’s Competitiveness”.

At a critical moment for Europe’s clean hydrogen sector, the Week offers an opportunity to take stock of progress, address the challenges facing deployment and build the partnerships needed to move forward. With competitiveness, energy resilience and the future of European research and innovation support high on the agenda, the discussions will focus on what it takes to turn technological advances into investment, industrial activity and market uptake.

The Innovation Forum complements the High-Level Policy Conference, connecting discussions on policy and regulation with the practical challenges of developing and scaling clean hydrogen solutions. It will explore how research and industry can best work together to deliver Europe’s hydrogen ambitions. Together, the two conferences connect the policy framework with the innovation needed to put it into practice.

Innovation Forum Programme highlights include:

  • Clean hydrogen innovation for industrial leadership: improving technology performance and cost-competitiveness, strengthening European manufacturing and accelerating market uptake.
  • Start-ups and scale-ups: helping innovators access demonstration opportunities, finance, first customers and industrial partnerships.
  • Skills for Europe’s hydrogen future: developing the talent and training needed across research, engineering, operations and project development.
  • Hydrogen Valleys from demonstration to deployment: connecting production, infrastructure and end-use, and exploring how Project Development Assistance and financing tools can support investment readiness.
  • Connecting funding for greater impact: bringing EU, national, regional and private support together across the innovation journey.

The programme features opening contributions from Valérie Bouillon-Delporte, Executive Director of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, Miguel Ángel López Borrego, CEO of thyssenkrupp and Chair of Hydrogen Europe’s Governing Board, and Maike Frese, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs of Bremen. Irish Minister of State Timmy Dooley will open the second day. A closing discussion will look ahead to Europe’s clean hydrogen technology leadership and the support needed to sustain it.

The High-Level Policy Conference will bring together senior policymakers and industry leaders to discuss the decisions shaping Europe’s hydrogen market. Highlights include clean technologies for industrial resilience, energy security and system integration, policies to stimulate demand, and financing approaches to reduce investment risks for large-scale hydrogen projects. Discussions will also address Europe’s global competitiveness and hydrogen’s role in mobility.

Complementing the policy and innovation discussions, the B2B Forum will focus on practical market developments and business opportunities across the hydrogen value chain.

Beyond the conference sessions, visit the Clean Hydrogen Partnership at the joint booth of the organisers, sheared with Hydrogen Europe, the European Commission and Hydrogen Europe Research. Meet our team, learn about EU-supported clean hydrogen research and innovation, and exchange ideas on the sector’s next steps.
