Webinar on Hydrogen Sustainability and Circularity

The large-scale deployment of sustainable and circular hydrogen is essential for the European Union to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 and reduce energy dependency, in line with the European Green Deal and the REPowerEU plan.

To support this objective, the Clean Hydrogen Partnership hosted a webinar on 8 May 2025, from 14:00 – 16:00 CET

The webinar began with insights from the European Hydrogen Sustainability and Circularity Panel (EHS&CP), established by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership. The panel presented its findings and discussed key challenges in advancing hydrogen sustainability and circularity.

The session focused on clean hydrogen production and its role in decarbonising transportation, emphasising the importance of storage, resource efficiency, and circularity. Scaling up clean hydrogen technologies not only supports environmental targets but also drives innovation, infrastructure growth, and international collaboration.

Additionally, experts provided insights on hydrogen life cycle analysis (LCA) and eco-design from the SH2E and eGHOST projects, complemented by contributions from the Joint Research Centre (JRC) on hydrogen sustainability.

Thank you for joining us for this informative session as we examined the future of clean hydrogen and its role in enabling a sustainable energy transition.
