Safety is essential to the successful development and deployment of hydrogen technologies and to the competitiveness of Europe’s hydrogen sector.

As hydrogen projects move from research and demonstration towards commercial deployment, effective safety management and knowledge sharing are increasingly important.

The European Hydrogen Safety Panel (EHSP), established under the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, provides independent safety expertise to funded projects, promotes best practices and supports continuous improvement across the hydrogen value chain. A key focus is the preparation and maintenance of Hydrogen Safety Plans, as well as the collection and sharing of safety-related knowledge.

The webinar is aimed at Hydrogen Project Officers, Project Safety Managers and other stakeholders involved in Clean Hydrogen JU projects.

Participants will gain practical insights into:

  • Key findings from recent EHSP reviews of Hydrogen Safety Plans and common areas for improvement;
  • The EHSP Safety Planning and Management Guidance Document, including recommendations for preparing, implementing, monitoring and updating Safety Plans;
  • The role of Safety Plans as living documents throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Information and support available from the EHSP to Clean Hydrogen JU beneficiaries.

The webinar will also include Q&A sessions with EHSP experts and highlight how safety knowledge generated across projects can contribute to a safer, more resilient and successful European hydrogen ecosystem.
