The EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) is a month-long series of activities initiated to build a secure energy future for Europe. The Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) is co-hosting high-level EUSEW sessions on greening European industry, which will showcase ground-breaking FCH JU-funded projects and initiatives. Here is an overview of all our EUSEW sessions not to be missed in October:
Hydrogen and its potential to decarbonise industrial hubs through ports
Thursday, 14 October, from 09:00 to 10:30
This session will bring together policy makers, industry representatives and regional authorities to talk about their experiences and share their visions on how ports can play a key role towards a green hydrogen economy.
Clean Steel with Hydrogen
Monday, 18 October, from 15:00 to 16:30
In the last 30 years emissions have been reduced by 26% through energy efficiency improvements and higher recycling rates. However, achieving climate-neutrality in the next 30 years requires radical changes in the way steel is produced: a higher level of circular economy and the integration of renewable energy sources directly or indirectly through hydrogen. This panel will discuss technology and policy issues related to the decarbonisation of the steel industry through hydrogen.
The key role of European regions in kick-starting and advancing the clean hydrogen economy
Tuesday, 26 October, from 11:00 to 12:30
The speakers and panellists taking part in this event have been involved from multiple angles in either kick-starting the use of hydrogen or expanding their hydrogen activities towards a promising hydrogen economy. The speakers and panellists will share their experience and views with the audience in developing a hydrogen economy.
